AI Fluency: Practitioner
Direct, verify, protect and scale your everyday use of AI at work
AI Fluency: Practitioner from the Enterprise Technology Association (ETA) takes you from using AI to using it well. Building on AI Fluency: Foundations, this course goes deeper into ETA's ADAPT framework (Assess, Direct, Assure, Protect, Tune), with hands-on practice in your own approved AI tool. You'll write expert-level briefs, work with files and data, verify what AI tells you, protect sensitive information, and turn what works into templates and team playbooks.
What you'll learn
- The full six-part brief (goal, context, audience, constraints, format, done criteria), plus roles and examples
- Working in loops: decomposition, letting the AI interview you, and critique-and-revise
- Getting reliable results from documents, spreadsheets and images, and spotting hidden-instruction risks
- Setting up custom instructions and project workspaces, and choosing between fast and reasoning models
- A repeatable claim-check workflow for facts, sources, reasoning, numbers, bias and tone, matched to the stakes
- Data classification, confidential and client data, copyright basics, disclosure, and applying your AI acceptable-use policy
- Building a prompt library, measuring real time and quality gains, and applying AI to writing, research, data analysis, meetings, project management and customer communication
- Packaging and sharing what works with your team
Who it's for
Working professionals in any sector who have completed AI Fluency: Foundations (or have equivalent experience) and use AI at work at least occasionally. No technical background is needed. For the hands-on exercises you'll need a general AI chat tool, ideally your organization's approved one.
How it works
Three modules with 13 lessons, a knowledge check after each module, and a final assessment that includes short written responses (2 credit hours). This course and AI Agents at Work: Practitioner make up Level 2: Practitioner of the ETA Certified AI Empowered Professional.
